Back to CEO Reset Routine: Realigning Your Energy and Strategy
There’s something about turning the page on a new season, especially this time of year, whether it’s the start of September, the shift into fall, or even that moment when the kids go back to school, that makes you want to hit refresh as well as getting a fresh new planner for my new goals. For me, that’s when I do a Back to CEO Reset Routine.
Think of it as spring cleaning for your business and mindset: a chance to step back into your CEO energy with clarity, focus, and intentional action. If you’ve been feeling scattered or stuck in the weeds, this reset is your permission slip to realign with your big vision.
Step 1: Clear the Physical + Digital Clutter
Over the years, I’ve realized if my space or life feels cluttered, it is really hard for me to focus. A fresh start begins with space. Also if you haven’t heard about or are into feng shui, it will change your life.
Declutter your desk, clear off your calendar, and delete the digital junk that’s slowing you down.
Audit your inbox and project management tools. Are they truly working for you, or are you working for them?
Reset your physical workspace so it inspires your CEO energy instead of draining it. When in doubt, bring big black trash bag energy into that space. Sometimes you just need to throw everything out and start fresh.
Step 2: Realign with Your Vision
The day-to-day can blur the big picture especially if you are the main care taker for your children. This is the time to zoom out and remember to see the forest for the trees.
Revisit your yearly and quarterly goals—do they still feel aligned?
Ask: Are my daily actions leading me toward my bigger mission, or am I just staying busy?
Update your vision board, journal on where you’re heading, and let yourself dream again.
Step 3: Refresh Your Routines
You are the energy source for your business. Your routines matter. If you feel drained and burned out, are you following a routine and are you taking care of yourself? It always seems very basic; but make sure you are sleeping, drinking water and taking some time for yourself.
Morning reset: create a CEO ritual that grounds you (movement, journaling, meditation, coffee in silence).
Weekly reset: choose one CEO power hour where you review finances, strategy, and priorities.
Boundaries reset: cut the energy leaks—delegate, delete, or automate tasks that aren’t CEO-level.
Step 4: Review Your Numbers
Being rooted in CEO energy also means knowing your numbers and making sure you are aware where things are on your P&L (profit and loss statement) so no matter what, you are running a profitable business.
Check your financials: cash flow, revenue goals, and expenses.
Audit your marketing: what’s working, what’s flatlined, what needs new energy.
Track progress: are you closer to your annual milestones, or is it time to pivot?
Step 5: Recommit to Your Growth
Finally, step into expansion and continue to ABL - Always be learning.
Invest in your development. Read the book, join the mastermind, book the coach.
Connect with other CEOs who inspire you.
Choose one bold move for this season that stretches you closer to the life and business you’re manifesting.
The Rooted CEO Reset Mantra
“I release the clutter, realign with my vision, and recommit to my next level. I am rooted in purpose and rising in power.”
Your Back to CEO Reset Routine isn’t about perfection; it’s about alignment. Every time you return to these steps, you ground yourself back into the energy of being the visionary, not just the operator. That’s where transformation happens.
